The best authors will be part of a true story – they will visit the Castle “In love with the Wind” near Sozopol
One month remains until the deadline for submission of student works, who want to participate in the fourth edition of the literary contest “Whoever saves one life, saves the whole world”, organized by the Center for Jewish-Bulgarian cooperation “Aleph”. This year’s theme is: “Shimon Peres and his contribution to the dimensions of universal humanism”. The choice of the theme is a tribute to the great Israeli statesman and champion of peace and amity Shimon Peres, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
Center “Aleph” announced the contest on November 1, 2016 and offered students six fragments of speeches by Israeli peacemaker, based on which to build their literary works. «Dream of big things. The bigger your dream, the more you get “, Perez advises. Young people are expected to write essay in order to express their vision for the future and how to fulfill their dreams. The life and work of Shimon Peres can be a starting point for them. The virtual library on the site of the Centre “Alef” http://alef-bg.org is created to help the contestants and is enriched with dozens of materials for Israeli statesman.
The competition is open to pupils from all over the country from VIII to XII class. They must send their works to March 10, 2017 at: center.alef@gmail.com or at: Burgas 8000 Sq. Baba Ganka 4, fl. 4.for Center “Aleph”.
The essays will be judged by a jury with a chairman Mihailina Pavlova- editor of the newspaper “Jewish News” and journalist in Bulgarian national radio and members: Rumen Leonidov – poet and publisher of the site Fakel.bg and Assen Yordanov – journalist and director of the site Bivol.bg.
The results of the competition will be announced at a ceremony in Burgas at the end of April 2017. The student whose work is ranked first will be rewarded with participation in a week-long international seminar for young leaders in Herzliya, Israel at the expense of the organizers. As before the first literary work will be published in leading Bulgarian media. The authors of the works awarded on second and third place will receive cash bonuses of 200 lev and 150 lev. For the best performermed center “Aleph” will organize a visit to Burgas to participate in the ceremony and other surprises.
In Burgas the young authors will be able to experience a true story. Especially for them center “Aleph” is organizing a trip to the only Bulgarian castle “in love with the Wind” near Sozopol. It is like a childhood dream come true and it is like it comes from Brothers Grimm and Andersen’s fairy tales. “Love in the wind” doesn’t have ancient history, but has already won numerous international awards and ranks among the most beautiful castles in Europe and among the most popular tourist attractions.
