Three state institutions are seeking sanctions against fascist ideologies

The Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are seeking more severe penalties and fines for the spread of fascist ideology. This came about after the Burgas District Prosecutor’s Office refused to set up a day-to-day production of individuals, who spread Hitler’s face in front of the City Court.

The case remained unpunished, although the perpetrators were identified. The District Attorney’s Office characterizes the case as petty hooliganism. Following a signal from CJBC Alef alarming for non-negligence and banalization of the hate language, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office is engaged. Parliament is ready to amend the Penal Code to repeal light administrative sanctions on hate crimes.

It is expected that the Criminal Code amendment against the spread of fascist ideology and defamation of national symbols is about to happen very soon.
