Strandzha’s legends and tells, recreated by Bulgarian and Turkish art groups, will be presented at the Amphitheatre in Primorsko
An attractive festival gathers the fans of the mystical Strandzha Mountain in Primorsko. It will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 19 am, at the amphitheatre in the sea town.
There will be 6 Strandzha legends, creatively interpreted by Bulgarian and Turkish art groups.
The Legends Festival aims to attract interest in the mysteries of Strandzha from the Bulgarian and Turkish sides and at the same time to provoke the creative potential of artistic young people to create scenic variants of some of the popular Strandja legends. The founders of Ahtopol Agatha and Delfin, the girl who gave the name of the Strandja Mountain, Princess Ropotamo, the mythological hero Orest, the miraculous Baba Bolzha and the old woman from Göl Baba, will become alive on stage.
Parallel to the art event there will be an eco-tour from the Thracian sanctuary Begliktash to the famous Lion’s head. The trip will be accompanied by various interactive games related to mountain tourism. The festival and the eco-tour are part of Project № СВ 005.1.23.107 – “Path of legends – establishment of new partnerships for development of sustainable cultural – historical tourism “, financed by Cross-Border Cooperation Program INTERREG-IPP CBC Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020.
The leading partner is Centre for Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation “Alef”. It focuses the public attention on a still undeveloped alternative form of tourism – the one-of-a-kind tourism. The Turkish side of the project is the Association for Cross Border Study in Edirne.
