Alef is the only Bulgarian organization that has become part of “NOA Compass”
Center for Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation “Alef” was included in the global anti-Semitism network NOA. The activities of the association have impressed the international organization “CEJI” / Jewish Contribution to Inclusive Europe /, based in Brussels. CEJI fights against prejudice and discrimination and seeks to promote social cohesion through training, education, dialogue and advocacy. The organization is under the auspices of the European Commission and works in partnership with the anti-Semitism network “NOA”. It was on the recommendation of CEJI that Alef was invited to join “NOA Compass” with its most significant initiative – the competition “Whoever saves one human life saves the whole universe”.
NOA is a network that offers an innovative approach to tackling the problem of growing anti-Semitism in Europe. It partners with major Jewish organizations and helps EU member states develop comprehensive national plans to counter and prevent anti-Semitism. The annual national literary youth competition “Whoever saves one human life saves the whole universe”, organized by Center “Alef”, is already part of the list of projects of NOA Compass, which is the first online map of European initiatives to combat anti-Semitism. It seeks to identify existing initiatives and network them to create a resource for public authorities and civil society organizations through the exchange of mutual practices.
