The echo of the International Literary Youth Competition “Whoever saves one human life saves the whole universe” continues. Alef Center received a valuable gift – a book with the stories of the participants in the eighth edition of the competition from the city of Kiriat Ono in Israel. It was initiated by Ben Zvi High School, which competed with 11 of Israel’s 15 young artists.
Before creating their stories, the young authors from Ben Zvi School went through a special workshop in which they received competent help on how to interpret the theme of the competition in works of art. Teachers Or Cohen and Libat Kaminski, who organized the literary workshop, supported their students who accepted the challenge of resurrecting stories based on historical events during the Holocaust, which tested the deep connection between Jews and Bulgarians, between the doomed and the savior. Their publication in a collection confirms the serious attitude towards the literary forum as an opportunity for creative expression, but also for the acquisition of new knowledge and personal development of students.
In addition to the gift, Alef received the assurance that in the ninth international competition, the representatives of Israel who wished to test their gift for writing will be much more.
