“With this conference, you are doing the most valuable, but also the most meaningful thing. You are building, brick by brick, the bridge from the past to the future that we so desperately need today. If it is not there, if it is not stable enough, we cannot build our tomorrow. Because without memory there is no future and this is the eternal and unfortunately forgotten truth for many generations. And the salvation of the Bulgarian Jews belongs to world memory.
We must rise up against all those who try to change or even worse – erase the past. History is not written with a pencil and therefore cannot be easily erased with an eraser. History is what it is and we must condemn all attempts to rewrite it. It is interesting to hear the young people read about events from 80 years ago, how they project them to date, and how they project them into the future.”, shared the Vice-president during the conference.
