Center “Alef” categorically opposes the unworthy rhetoric addressed to the Bulgarian national representative of Jewish origin, Daniel Laurer, on March 14 by citizens who presented themselves as supporters of the political party “Vazrazhdane”. Such manifestations are incompatible with the values of the Bulgarian society, which proved exactly 81 years ago its high moral standards and saved nearly 50,000 Jews from destruction. Driven by dubious political biases, these events only aim to divide and polarize our society.
We call on the institutions for quick and decisive actions to stop all discriminatory acts threatening social peace in the country.
We appeal to the young people, to whom the activities of Center “Alef” are mainly directed, not to allow themselves to be manipulated by misanthropic ideologies and not to engage in acts of discriminatory speech.
